Consumer Education for the Elderly

The Columbia Urban League's Consumer Education for the Elderly program has two goals; to raise awareness among the elderly population in Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry and Richland counties of the different deceptive tactics used by individuals and/or businesses to take advantage of the elderly and to reduce the occurrence of fraudulent activity against the elderly population in these four counties.  The services that are currently provided  include, but are not limited to fake checks/telemarketing, durable power of attorney, living will, last will and testaments, health care power of attorney, probating of estate and identity theft.
