On July 14, the Healthy Futures participants will be treated to a cooking demonstration at the new kitchen lab in the Discovery 1 building located between the Koger Center and the Colonial Life Arena. Phyllis Allen, state director of Public Health Nutrition, will show how to prepare some Southern favorites in a way that is healthier -- less fat and calories. Allen's menu will include oven fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and banana pudding.
