The C.L.U.E
The C.L.U.E. program which CHILDREN LEARNING from UNIQUE EXPERIENCES is a program that gives young people the opportunity to learn while they earn community service hours. The program allows the kids to establish relationships with a senior citizen in the surrounding area. The Columbia Urban League sees this as an opportunity for young people to Bridge the Gap between themselves and senior citizens. This program not only will reward students with a learning experience of a lifetime it will help enlighten the lives of those who they will touch throughout their involvement with the project. The Clue will also help to engage young people in an environment that promotes abstinence among teenage children.
Participants benefit from the group through service learning, bridge building, supervised community volunteering, activities that will enhance needs of others, and provide pregnancy preventative measures. Students will also benefit from their involvement by qualifying for summer employment though the Columbia Urban League.
